XER Schedule Toolkit 1.4 marks the beginning of a new chapter for the platform, one focused on smarter workflows, stronger reporting, and a cleaner, more modern experience.

This release introduces an optional new interface, giving you an early look at what will become the face and user experience of XER Schedule Toolkit 2.0.

As we continue to develop features centred on period updates and project reporting, we’re refreshing how the Toolkit works and feels. The redesigned layout unites reporting tools, streamlines project management, and makes the platform more mobile-friendly.

Today’s release is the first step into that future.

You can enable the new interface in your account settings. We’d love you to switch it on, explore, and tell us what you think — your feedback will directly shape the evolution of the Toolkit over the coming months.

Introducing AI Exec Summary

Your intelligent assistant for project clarity. This powerful feature automatically analyses complex project plan updates and distils them into clear, actionable summaries.

In seconds, it highlights key changes, milestone shifts, and deviations from your predefined baseline and dates, giving you instant visibility into what’s on track and what’s changed.

With AI Exec Summary, teams spend less time sifting through data and more time making informed decisions — keeping projects aligned, efficient, and confidently under control.

Period Reporting Has Arrived

With version 1.4, we’re laying the foundations of our new Period Reporting feature, the first phase of a much larger development roadmap that will unfold over the next year.

This first release brings together familiar performance metrics like LEI, project health, and activity start/finish trends into an early reporting summary — a quick, printable snapshot that turns data into usable insight in seconds.

Over the coming releases, this capability will grow into a comprehensive reporting environment that not only summarises performance but also provides clear insights into your project indices, showing you where to focus your attention and generating an executive summary perfectly suited for board-level reporting.

In other words, 1.4 is just the beginning — the groundwork for a complete reporting suite designed for real-world project controls.

New Licence Names, Same Great Value

In line with the new interface and to make licences clearer and better reflect real-world roles, we’ve renamed them:

Admin Licence → Project Controller
Identifies the person responsible for managing the programme and keeping the Toolkit current.

Read-Only Licence → Professional
At under £3 per month, this licence does far more than view data — it empowers users to interact, update, and report. The new name recognises its professional role in shaping how projects are delivered.

These changes better show where we’re heading — toward a single, intuitive platform for programme control that unites healthy scheduling, real-time dashboards, progress updates, and now project reporting.

You Said, We Did

We’ve always believed that the best improvements come straight from those using XER Schedule Toolkit every day, and 1.4 continues that tradition.

✔️ BEI, LEI, and CLEI Indices
You asked for these metrics to be displayed as index scores, not percentages, and we agree — that’s exactly as they should be.

They’re now shown correctly:

  • 1.0 = On track

  • < 1.0 = Behind schedule

  • 1.0 = Ahead of schedule

✔️ Microsoft Project (MPP) User Fields
Many of you reported that user-defined fields in MPP files were not coming across to the Toolkit. That’s now fixed.

You can now use MPP user fields just as easily as XER fields. Combined with improvements introduced in version 1.3, this update brings Microsoft Project users fully in line with Primavera users.

Always Evolving

Version 1.4 is more than an update — it’s the foundation of what’s to come.

Over the next year, you’ll see reporting mature into a fully featured suite that transforms how project performance is reviewed and shared, offering actionable insights, board-ready summaries, and real confidence in your project data.

As always, we welcome your feedback. Tell us what works, what doesn’t, and what would make XER Schedule Toolkit even better.

Together, we’re shaping the future of project controls — one update at a time.
