How to view the critical path of a schedule

There are several ways to view the activities on a project’s critical path using the XER Toolkit, but the quickest way is to use the link under the top schedule header menu. Selecting the critical path option will display the full list of critical path activities for project in date sequence such as the complete work breakdown structure.

We may, however, want to display the critical path activity using a different structure. For example, we can refresh the schedule to the default work breakdown structure settings by selecting the filter option from the side menu. Once selected you need to click on the reset icon in the top right-hand corner before clicking apply. The schedule will refresh and display all activities but to filter for only the critical activities, you need to select the filter option from the side menu, this will open the filter form where under the general filter conditions you need to tick the critical path only box.

Below this there is the option to show near critical activities by adjusting the total float threshold. Once ready you need to click on the Apply button at the top of the page. The schedule will refresh and update with your chosen settings.
