Schedule Adherence report for incomplete milestones

In this video, we are going to use the XER Toolkit to generate a report based on the projected adherence of future milestones to their respected baseline dates.

First, head to the left of the toolkit to open your dashboard from the side menu. Click the panel to start the process. If you don’t have any free panels, use the Add item button above the dashboard area. You will then need to select the Schedule Adherence option.

From the toolkit, we can either look at the adherence of start or finish dates, but as we are focusing on milestones, we can select either option. The report will include all activities within opened projects and will update as you open and close them. As well as reporting on adherence to the schedule, we can also see that there are tasks that do not have the corresponding activity within the baseline.

To set up and add a filter, you need to first raise the filter form from the chart hamburger menu. Following this, you should select the Activity filter option. From the filter form, under Activity Status, you should make sure everything is ticked apart from the completed box. Plus, from the Activity Types, select all the milestone options, and then click on the Apply button at the top of the menu. The system will refresh and show all milestone information from the project.

To modify the chart type, we can open the settings form from the chart hamburger menu and select the Chart settings option. From this form, you can select the desired format from under the Chart Types option.

To view the detailed data behind the chart, expand the chart hamburger menu and select the Export chart data option. The toolkit will extract the requested data and collate into a downloadable report. The report is produced in a standard Microsoft Excel workbook and contains a summary sheet with the chart and data. There is also a second worksheet with a full list of the filtered tasks, or in this case milestones.
